6 Oct. Zero day at Funakubo Hut for a Typhoon
4 Oct. Kumonodaira Hut - Suisho-dake - Eboshi Hut
I always dreamed to come to Kumonodaira since I started hiking years ago. In the morning, the rain which lasted more than 24 hours finally stopped and the sky was all clear. Clear and very quiet morning.
Incredibly beautiful and powerful sunrise.

I was totally overpowered by the beauty of the scene. I couldn't move for a few minutes... I enjoyed the morning spectacular and started walking to Suisho-dake.
Suisho means crystal in Japanese and the rock contains much crystal literally.

After Suisho-dake, I hiked to Eboshi-dake via Noguchigoro-dake. The ridge line from Noguchigoro and Eboshi is white because of the granite rock. I enjoyed the walk in the white rock garden.

5 Oct. Eboshi Hut - Fudo-dake - Funakubo Hut
I heard that a typhoon was coming and it would storm. I decided to stay at Funakubo Hut this night, I didn't want to stay in my tent and get soaked again.
The typhoon was close and the air was lukewarm and humid. The sky was grey like lead.

The peak of Eboshi-dake was rocky and I enjoyed some bouldering. No, I don't have time to play here, I have to go to the next hut before the storm comes.
I got to Funakubo Hut around noon via Fudo-dake. There were some steep ups and downs between Fudo-dake and Funakubo Hut. I managed to come to the hut before the rain got heavier.
Funakubo Hut is very small but cozy place. There is a fireplace in the middle. They use less electricity and basically use lanterns. An old couple is the owners.

3 hikers stayed here this night and we introduced ourselves after dinner and talked over the fire with the hut staffs. We heard some stories of this hut from the owners. They built the hut in their 20th and have lived with the hut. They have seen all the changes in the area. I learned so many things from them. They know a lot and they love mountains, most importantly, they live with the nature.
6 Oct. Zero Day at Funakubo Hut
It rained all day long. There is no need to rush for me. OK, I stay here one more night. It was really fun to hear some stories of the owners.
